El próximo 21 de Abril comienza la edición número 19 del Udine Far East Film Festival, uno de los festivales dedicados al cine asiático más importantes del mundo realizados fuera de Asia. Durante los casi 10 días que dura este festival italiano podrá verse lo último del cine popular asiático, novedades y clásicos recuperados que suman más de 80 películas entre todas sus secciones. La japonesa Survival Family de Shinobu Yaguchi será la película encargada de inaugurar el festival, mientras que lo cerrará la última producción hasta la fecha del director hongkonés Herman Yau Shockwave. Además de la sección oficial a competición hay que añadir una interesante sección no competitiva, con una retrospectiva titulada Creative Visions: Hong Kong Cinema 1997-2017, centrada en el cine contemporáneo hongkonés y que consta de 10 títulos de primer nivel, documentales, la ya clásica sección China Now y los Clásicos Recuperados, que en esta ocasión incluyen una de las obras maestras del recientemente desaparecido Seijun Suzuki en su versión restaurada, Branded to Kill.
